Hearing: This Summer’s Mixtape!

“House of Balloons” Mixtape by The Weekend

It’s All About “The Weeknd” This Summer!

As summer time is approaching the urge to step out in the sun and subtract layers of clothing is a definite must!  First and foremost it’s time for the summer jams that set the tone for our summer time memories, in which most of our activities are accompanied by a soundtrack that might as well be the tunes to our lives. There are a few jams that can set the tone for a nice summer outing…grown that is. For a nice chill and relaxing day I suggest listening to ‘The Weekend’; who is an unsigned R&B artist from Toronto, Canada, the mixtape “HOUSE OF BALLONS” is a free digital download that was released in March of 2011. The sound of this mixtape is sensual, eerie, and creative, nowadays a sound such as this is very hard to find with current artists not being able to integrate their creative spirits into the music that they love the most. If you enjoy Drake’s singing voice then you will love The Weekend, being that he sounds similar to Drizzy if he were to put out a full LP of just singing and production. To give you a dose of my personal preference, I suggest checking out a couple of tracks, the first being “Coming Down” and “The Morning” which are my favorites. Let this mixtape be the soundtrack for your summer no matter if you’re chilling, going out, relaxing with a significant other or just cruising to the beach. Have a great summer.
